😻 Lulu Has Gone Home

The cat rescued by DCSPCA who became a media darling has found her new family.

As you may have read in recent news articles by People, News10, Daily Freeman, and more, Lulu landed at DCSPCA after having been brought to the vet by her owners to be euthanized for peeing outside of the litter box. The vet quickly contacted us and we rushed to pick her up and bring her to safety at our shelter.

Our medical team determined that Lulu’s outside-the-box peeing was caused by urinary crystals, which we treated with a special diet.

Once Lulu’s story reached the public, some very generous organizations offered to help her.

World's Best Cat Litter donated a wonderful care package for Lulu to bring home to her new family. They are also donating a pallet of their "Picky Cat" litter to the cats in the shelter!

The Cathy Kangas Foundation for Animals donated 3 months of Lulu’s prescription food!

Thank you to these wonderful organizations for helping Lulu while we worked to find her the perfect home!

On April 18, 2023 Lulu found her new family, who drove hours to meet her and pick her up. We couldn’t be more thrilled that she has found her new home where she will be loved and cherished. And we are so grateful to the media outlets and organizations that have helped her.
