👕🛒DCSPCA launches merch collaboration with Marist College fashion students
DCSPCA is excited to announce the launch of DCSPCA X Marist, an inventive new line of merchandise designed by students of Marist’s Fashion program. All sales directly benefit the animals helped by DCSPCA.
The collaboration was conceived and initiated by award-winning fashion designer and animal advocate John Bartlett while in his role as Marist Fashion Program Director. Marist Fashion students were led by Assistant Dean and member of the fashion faculty Jodi Hartmann in Hartmann’s Private Label Course as part of the course’s Community Based Learning segment. “The course allowed the students to use the academic theories they learned in Product Development and other courses and apply those theories to develop products for a real-world customer,” said Hartmann.
The DCSPCA X Marist line of merchandise includes four pieces in total: a mug, youth t-shirt, doggie hoodie, and adult t-shirt. All are available for sale at DCSPCA’s online gift shop: https://dutchess-county-spca.square.site/
Each piece in the collection showcases the students’ creativity in using fashion design as a tool for animal advocacy. The playful and vibrant line offers something for everyone, including some furry family members. Both the adult t-shirt and mug incorporate actual images of real animals rescued by DCSPCA. The youth t-shirt features an original illustration by a Marist student.
“We’re so excited to launch this very special collection in which the talented students of Marist’s fashion program shine a spotlight on the animals of DCSPCA,” Said DCSPCA Executive Director Lynne Meloccaro. “Every sale will directly benefit the animals of Dutchess County, including all of those living in our shelter, as well as other animals in the community who are helped by our various programs. What a beautiful way to benefit animals in need.”
