All The Dogs of My Life

Dear Friends:

As we begin the new year, I want to share with you a video that touched me deeply. Uplifting & poignant, I came away with a better understanding of the words HOPE and JOY — words that we hear often this time of year.

Please join me on a brief journey into the life of a shelter dog. The attached video was debuted at the Dutchess County SPCA’s Holiday Gift for the Animals event on December 6, 2009.

After you’ve watched the video, make a resolution to support the many homeless dogs and cats at the DCSPCA waiting for a home. You can do this by making a donation through this website or by calling us. You can do this by visiting the DCSPCA and choosing your own animal, enriching your life and theirs.

Thank you for caring. It’s because of you so many of the homeless animals at the DCSPCA have been chosen.

It is the mission of the DCSPCA to rescue and provide temporary humane shelter for the abandoned, neglected and abused companion animals of the Dutchess County community. Central to our mission is the securing of caring, responsible, permanent homes for the adoptable animals in our care.

We shall provide humane law enforcement throughout Dutchess County, and by example and through education, we shall promote and advance responsible, humane companion animal guardianship.

Dutchess County SPCA recognized for its sound fiscal management
We are pleased to share that for the second year in a row, the DCSPCA received Charity Navigator’s 4-star rating for our ability to efficiently manage our finances . This puts the SPCA in the top 19% of non-profit organizations in the nation. In their letter, Charity Navigator stated, “This exceptional designation…differentiates Dutchess County SPCA from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
